ABOUT RICARDO

From a technical question to useful software

I’m Ricardo van der Spoel, OXIAE’s founder and developer. I have 15+ years of software development experience. My strengths are backends, project structure and cloud architecture: the foundation of a complete application. My work spans business logic, integrations, infrastructure, security and ongoing development.

At OXIAE, I use AI daily to work through designs, develop code, create test scenarios and maintain documentation. This expands my development capacity and brings the frontend to a high standard too. I define the architecture, review the results and test how the components work together, connecting the user interface with the backend and cloud environment.

Alongside my software work, I write for IkWordOndernemer about digitalisation, ICT and practical uses of AI. On OXIAE, I connect those explanations to the decisions organisations face when commissioning and maintaining software.

TOPICS AND FURTHER READING

What I write about and build

These guides help you define a specific technical question. They cover decisions, examples, information you will need and next steps for your organisation.

APIs and reliable software integrations

Connecting systems also involves data models, ownership, duplicate processing and recovery when an external service is unavailable.

Investigating technical decisions

A technical investigation helps make findings, uncertainties and next steps explicit before investing in further development.

PRACTICE AND PROVENANCE

Projects that show my technical background

These cases describe my previous work under Van der Spoel Development. They explain my role and the technical context; they are my own project descriptions rather than independent customer reviews.

OXIAE’s portfolio also includes IkWordOndernemer.nl. Explore the platform in the project overview.

Eleads

Rebuilt as the sole programmer

From a WordPress base to an operational Laravel and Vue platform. My work covered intake, qualification, matching, AI and RAG, subscriptions and Moneybird synchronisation.

EDITORIAL APPROACH

How I make the explanations checkable

OXIAE content supports decisions about technical solutions. It also describes my own services. I therefore make the origin of explanations and examples clear.

Practical experience has a clear origin

When I draw on project experience, I link to the relevant case and describe my own contribution. Work within a team retains that context. An illustrative scenario is presented as an example.

Technical documentation for specific claims

For product behaviour, standards and technical limitations, I use vendor documentation or the original standard where appropriate. A page’s sources give you a starting point to check the explanation further.

Assumptions remain visible

A calculator or scenario helps you explore a situation. Its output depends on your inputs and assumptions. A calculation is not an achieved saving, and a demonstration does not establish that a solution already works in your organisation.

Changes and corrections

A displayed update date corresponds to a substantive change to the page. If something is incorrect or missing, send the page URL, the passage and a source if available. This helps me assess a correction directly.
