How does this tool calculate?

The estimated number of clicks is: ad budget divided by the cost per click. The number of leads is: clicks × click-to-lead conversion. The cost per lead is then: ad budget divided by the number of leads. If the number of leads comes out at zero, the tool shows no cost per lead.

The result is an estimate of your media cost per lead to compare campaigns. It is your own input, not an industry figure and not a promise about your result.

How does the tool estimate the number of clicks?

We divide your monthly ad budget by the cost per click. With a budget of 1,000 euros and a click price of 1 euro that comes to about 1,000 clicks. It is an estimate; in practice click prices fluctuate by day and by search term.

What is a realistic click-to-lead conversion?

That varies a lot by industry, offer and landing page. So enter your own figure from experience. If you do not have one yet, choose a cautious assumption and adjust it once you have real data.

Why is the cost per lead sometimes not calculable?

If the number of leads comes out at zero, for example with a conversion of zero percent or without budget, there is no cost per lead to divide. Enter realistic values to get a result.

Does this include all costs?

No. The tool only counts your ad budget as cost. Things like management, tooling and your own time are not included. The result is an estimate of the media cost per lead, not your total cost price.
