OXIAE / AI & AUTOMATION

AI consulting.

Turn separate AI ideas into an informed decision for your business.

Advice, strategy or implementation?

You need to resolve a specific decision or a stalled AI initiative.

What does an AI consultant do?

An AI consultant identifies where AI could support your business and examines what an implementation would require from your data, systems and team. At Oxiae, the outcome may be a recommendation to improve existing software, run a focused pilot or build a custom solution. The starting point is a business problem, rather than a preferred tool.

When it is a good fit

Consulting is useful when several AI ideas compete for attention, a pilot has stalled, or your team needs help choosing an approach. I start with examples of the actual work and the decisions you need to make.

When to take a different approach

If the process is unclear or source information is unreliable, process or data improvements may need to come first. Adding AI does not resolve those foundations on its own.

PRACTICAL DECISION GUIDE

How do you assess AI advice?

AI consulting should improve a decision. I first examine the consequences of an incorrect answer, a delayed task or a mistaken change. For each application, we establish who makes decisions, what information is available and which checks people must retain. [1]

The advice then compares an existing software feature, rules-based automation and an AI solution. I make assumptions about volume, cost and quality explicit and propose a bounded trial. This gives you a basis for investment before the project becomes dependent on one model or vendor. [2]

Questions to settle first

  • Which everyday decision should the advice help you make?
  • Who will assess the outcome using representative examples?

Make acceptance measurable

  • A reasoned recommendation with alternatives, dependencies and uncertainties.
  • A trial plan with a baseline, an assessor and agreed stopping criteria.

Compare your options

Choose based on the task, the people involved and what you can maintain.

ApproachUseful whenWhat to consider
Opportunity assessmentUnderstand which tasks could be suitable and what they would require.Provides direction rather than a finished implementation.
Focused consultingResolve a specific strategy, architecture or feasibility question.Success should be judged by the decision and its evidence.
ImplementationBuild once the task and acceptance criteria are sufficiently clear.Requires access to systems and involvement from the people using the solution.

What I need to start

  • A process owner who can explain how the work happens today.
  • Representative examples, including exceptions.
  • An overview of existing systems, access rights and costs.

How to assess the result

  • Each opportunity addresses a defined problem for specific users.
  • The main assumptions, dependencies and limitations are documented.
  • The recommendation includes an actionable next step and a reason to stop if evidence is weak.
SCOPE & INVESTMENT

What determines the cost?

A useful estimate starts with the scope. I distinguish development work from recurring usage and operating costs. These are the main drivers:

  • The number of processes and teams involved.
  • The depth of technical investigation and practical testing.
  • Whether the engagement includes implementation or ongoing support.
APPLICATION AND SCOPE

Your challenge.
A practical application.

Illustrative scenario; not a published client case.

Your team sees opportunities for AI but needs someone to connect business, data and technology.

If your question concerns the order of several AI initiatives, an AI strategy helps define priorities and requirements. Once an application has been selected, the work moves to AI implementation: building, testing and introducing it with the people who will use it.

THE QUESTION I ASK FIRST

Which processes take the most time, and what data is available?

Agree the first step

Use the prerequisites, acceptance checks and cost factors above to define your assignment. Agree who can approve the outcome and who will maintain the solution. The project approach explains discovery, delivery and handover.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS SERVICE

Your questions.
Clear answers.

Do we need technical knowledge before starting?

No. A description of the work, examples and the desired outcome are a useful start. I identify the technical information and access needed as the scope becomes clearer.

How is consulting different from AI development?

Consulting helps establish what should be built and why. Development implements the chosen solution. Oxiae can connect both stages, with responsibilities and scope agreed in advance.

Do you work with English-speaking teams in the Netherlands?

Oxiae focuses on businesses in the Netherlands. You can use these English service pages to explore the approach and prepare your requirements. The working language, stakeholders and scope are agreed at the start of an engagement.
