This accompanies our article on AI strategy. With several ideas, an actionable sequence beats a tool list or an unsupported return figure.
A fictional trading company wants support answer drafts, invoice processing and searchable HR documents. All sound interesting, but sources, permissions and process knowledge differ between the applications.
For each idea, describe the work problem, owner, available examples and consequences of errors. Identify missing prerequisites and who can resolve them before a meaningful trial can begin.
A maintained manual covers one support question type. Its owner can prepare questions and expected passages. Employees still review and send drafts; the trial assesses quality and correction effort.
For invoices, common exceptions and authority to resolve differences are still unknown. Map normal and exceptional cases first, then check which steps the accounting product supports.
Valid HR document versions and access rules remain unclear. Postpone this application with an explicit task for source owners and administrators. Then reassess which search approach would be appropriate.
Before each trial, record who assesses results and which findings justify adjustment or stopping. Include review effort and exceptions. A trial plan is not evidence of an achieved return.
Support gets an evidence step, finance a discovery task and HR a prerequisite to resolve. Record owners, decision points and missing evidence, and revisit assumptions as circumstances change.
This is not a universal ranking. Our source article on AI strategy connects goals, dependencies and evidence steps to an actionable roadmap.
